US campus protests live updates: Campus police in standoff with activists on LA campus

Welcome to our live coverage of the ongoing protests on campuses in the United States.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have taken place at several universities – and there have been clashes with police.

The focus now is the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where more than 1,000 protesters have been ordered to disperse by police.

There is a tense situation on the ground as riot police move in to clear the protest encampment.

Earlier, there was violence between pro-Palestinian groups and counter-protesters. At least 15 people were injured, according to our US partner CBS News.
